Hi, I’m Natalie Amber.

Thanks for checking out my site! I’m a Mental Health Counsellor, soon-to-be registered Canadian Certified Counsellor (March 2025), working out of Edmonton, AB. I offer psychotherapy services for individuals and couples/relationship dynamics of all kinds that are trauma informed, queer friendly & compassion-centred. I’m able to see clients in person in Edmonton, or virtually from anywhere in Canada.

I draw heavily from Parts Work/IFS in my sessions. I truly believe all your ‘parts’ are trying to protect you and meet your needs, and we’ll explore these parts of you with compassion and curiosity.

I also specialize in supporting folks experiencing relationship anxiety/”ROCD”, and those who may have disorganized attachment, making intimacy and trust challenging and sometimes frightening. I help you navigate your anxiety responses so you can access the loving and supportive connections that you’ve always wanted.

The best way to see if we’re a good fit is to book a free 20 minute discovery call, so get in touch to chat with me!

What to expect when working with me:

Session Length: approximately 50 minutes.

Individual Session Cost: *$130/5o min session

Couples/Relationships Session Cost: *$170 /50 min session

Couples/Relationships extended Session Cost: *$200/75 minutes

Additional limited sliding scale spots are available upon request, so please reach out to inquire and/or be put on a wait list.

*All rates are currently at Mental Health counsellor prices. Rates will increase slightly upon CCC designation. We will chat about this during our first session.

Partial Coverage: Sun Life, Manulife, Alberta Blue Cross, Great West Life

I take inspiration from therapists and writers such as adrienne maree brown, bell hooks, Emily Nagoski, Jessica Fern, Janina Fisher, Prentice Hemphill and Richard Schwartz. Each one of these great minds have contributed to making more space in the therapy world for the real and lasting impacts of trauma (present and intergenerational), the importance of attachment and attunement, as well as how deeply we are affected by the oppressive societal structures we are born into. Capitalism, white supremacy, imperialism, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia and ablism all impact our emotional landscapes, and you can expect me to take these social forces into consideration in our work together.

You can also expect to be regarded as the expert of your own life and decisions. I’m here to help you learn to trust the wisdom I already know is right there inside you.

I am drawn to IFS/Parts work, Attachment theory and somatic-based frameworks, but will draw upon the modalit(ies) I think best suits your needs.

Areas of focus: General Anxiety/Social Anxiety, Relationship Anxiety/ROCD, Depression, Couples/Poly/Relationship work, Trauma + Attachment wounding, Gender + Sexuality exploration, Adults who were parentified as children, Grief, Climate anxiety, Nature connection, Existential anxiety/exploration
